The Fort Myers Police Department is happy to receive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The police department was awarded the AED in July and has recently received the new unit, which will be placed on the Fort Myers Police Department’s Marine Unit vessel.

An automated external defibrillator is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation.

We are appreciative of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation award, and we are grateful that we will have this lifesaving piece of equipment available to our Marine Officers. The sponsoring Firehouse Subs is located at 3398 Forum Boulevard (Suite 116) Fort Myers, FL.
