On Tuesday, October 6, 2015 the Fort Myers Police Department will kick off October’s Crime Prevention Month by partnering with Celebrate Safe Communities to keep neighborhoods safe from crime and prepared for any emergency. This year’s community celebration “A Night of Family Fun” will take place at Centennial Park located in Downtown Fort Myers from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will be an exciting evening to include free food, games, music, kid’s fun zones, police demonstrations and free child I.D. kits. “This year’s event will be the 17th annual event for the Fort Myers Police Department,” according to Operations Bureau Captain Jim Mulligan. A Night of Family Fun is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
  • Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Corporate Sponsors and Vendors include the following: City of Fort Myers, City of Fort Myers Fire Department, Costco, Target, Boar’s Head, B103.9, Let’s Bounce Inc., SWFL Bubble Soccer, Coca-Cola Inc., Rita’s Ice, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Frito-Lay.
