“Fort MyersPAL Boxers Champs at Tournament”
The Fort Myers Police Athletic Boxing League won three belts at a recent state tournament. Five local youth traveled toFort Pierce,Floridafor the event over the past weekend. FMPD Officer Johnny Seay and Coach Jose Ojeda helped guide the following young men to victory: Juliano Castellano won the 75lb, 10-11 year old weight class.
Pablo Lopes won the 125lb, 15-16 year old weight class and Benjamin Orozco won the 119lb, 13-14 year old weight class.
PAL is a not-for-profit organization serving 400+ youth annually by providing athletic, educational and social programs to area children. The program supplies equipment, uniforms and transportation to participants at little or no cost. All coaches and volunteers are from the Fort Myers Police Department and the local community. PAL strives to provide role models, develop discipline, and instill self-esteem and foster positive moral values. PAL is supported primarily through donations.
