LEE COUNTY – Something good happening tonight in lee county.  Two sheriff’s deputies are being honored by a local congressman.

Representative Connie Mack presenting the congressional badge of bravery to sergeant Pat McDonald and deputy Ryan Justham.

In 2010, the two risked their lives to protect others during a deadly shootout in Lehigh Acres.  Congressman Mack said during today’s ceremony that their bravery is what epitomizes serving our community.

The congressional badge of bravery was put in place in 2008  by Congress as a way to honor federal, state, and local law enforcement officers.
