FMPD Lt. Roger Valdivia Honored by Florida Police Chiefs Association
(Fort Myers, FL) – Fort Myers Police Lieutenant Roger Valdivia received the Outstanding Command Officer of the Year award last night at the 67th Annual Florida Police Chief’s Association Installation and Awards banquet. The award from the state-wide organization recognizes “work by a command officer who has exhibited outstanding service to his community, has proven field leadership and a record of successful completed projects.”
A 22-year veteran of the force the Lieutenant oversees the department’s fleet of vehicles, negotiation team, mobile field force, quartermaster support services, property and evidence sections. He was nominated for the award by fellow members of the FMPD and judged by a committee from the Florida Police Chief’s Association. Accompanying Lt. Valdivia at the ceremony was his wife Laura, Chief Derrick Diggs, Deputy Chief Jeffery Meyers and Captain William Newhouse. The event was held at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel on the evening of Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
