The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has gifted the Punta Gorda Police Department with a Cardiac Science G5 Automated External Defibrillator (AED) through a grant committed to outfitting every police cruiser with these lifesaving devices. The Punta Gorda Police Department was selected to receive this device by the local Firehouse franchise, located in Port Charlotte at 18500 Veteran’s Boulevard. Franchise owners Russell and Kim Clouden are pictured here with members of the Punta Gorda Police Department.
The Punta Gorda Police Department intends to incorporate this AED into a rescue bag of life-saving equipment which will be assigned to all training exercises held off-property and away from equipment in place throughout the Public Safety building.
The AED’s portable size will also allow for carry by the bike patrol team during public events and special patrols.
“We are thankful to the Cloudens and to Firehouse Subs for their continued support of local first responders,” stated Chief Tom Lewis. “Community Partners like the Cloudens continue to make this a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.”
