In January, Chief Connelly was appointed to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Community Policing Committee. The committee was formed to define community policing and create standardized criteria for agencies employing it, as well as formulating model policies and procedures for community police operations. The committee also establishes links with non-law enforcement social and human service agencies toward enhanced communication, training, and mutual problem solving.
Also in January, as a Commissioner with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), Chief Connelly was appointed Chair of the International Affairs Committee. Chief Connelly’s duties and responsibilities include making policy decisions about Commission operations internationally, and standards for public safety accreditation.
Chief Connelly also currently serves on CALEA’s Corporate Affairs Committee.
