Award Fields & KloackOn April 26, 2014 Fort Myers Police Department SWAT Operators Sergeant Jason Fields, Officer Michael Kloack and Officer Jonathan Garcia participated in the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Stair Climb. This was the second year FMPD SWAT Officers participated in this fundraising event to raise awareness and support ALA’s mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

During the timed event officers climbed 30 flights of stairs at the High Pointe Place luxury condominiums in full tactical gear alongside local firefighters and surrounding agency SWAT members.

FMPD SWAT defended their title of fastest SWAT Team by recording a time of 4:49 minutes. During the individual SWAT climber event Officer Michael Kloack took first place overall with a time of 4:11 minutes and Sergeant Jason Fields took second place overall with a time of 4:33 minutes. “We didn’t mind breathing heavy so we could help others breathe easier,” said SWAT Sergeant Jason Fields.

Please join us in congratulating our benevolent SWAT Team members.
