AaronOlsonSergeant Aaron Olson of the Fort Myers Police Department was selected as h.h. gregg’s Hometown Hero representing Fort Myers, Florida. The appliance/electronic store is recognizing thirty-one “Hometown Heroes” from around the United States during the month of May.

Sergeant Olson was selected for his invaluable work in the community and his work overseas as a United States Army Reservist. On the home front Sergeant Olson built many partnerships with residents that has led to crime reduction in areas typically plagued with violent offenses. Sergeant Olson was a community policing coordinator for the central district for many years solving neighborhood problems with unconventional thinking. He now mentors younger officers as a patrol sergeant on Delta shift to think and handle problems in the same manner.

Sergeant Olson was honored on h.h. gregg’s Facebook page and received the following items:

  • New Maytag washer
  • New Maytag dryer
  • $250 gift certificate

“Those that know Aaron have come to understand his never ending passion for helping persons less fortunate over the years. It’s fitting that h.h. gregg has now helped him,” said Lieutenant Jeffrey Bernice.
