Punta Gorda Police Captain Jason Ciaschini graduated Friday from the Future Law Enforcement Executive Seminar in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This executive development course, sponsored by the Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) and the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute (FCJEI), was developed for up and coming command officers preparing for future chief executive leadership positions.

The 40-hour program included training in Leading the Police Organization in the 21st Century, Effective Budgeting, Managing Across Generations, Ethics, Leadership Perceptions, and an incumbent Chief’s Roundtable along with a host of other contemporary topics.

Chief Albert (Butch) Arenal, who currently serves as Chair of the FCJEI Policy Board, stated “This is some of the best preparatory training a command officer can get; from Florida Chiefs who have either done the job or are doing the job today.”

Captain Ciaschini joined the Punta Gorda Police Department in 1997. He serves as the agency’s Support Services Division Commander and oversees Communications, Records, Evidence & Property, Fleet, Budget, Professional Standards, and Accreditation, among other things. Captain Ciaschini is a graduate of the 2012 class of Leadership Charlotte, 47th session of the FCJEI Chief Executive Seminar, and 10th session of Saint Leo University’s Command Officer Management Program. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association and has been an Assessor and Team Leader for the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation for the past 14 years, assessing law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Florida for compliance with accreditation standards.

“This training will further prepare Captain Ciaschini for a bright law enforcement future,” stated Chief Arenal. “We are proud of his graduation from this outstanding training.”
