NORTH PORT – North Port Police Officer Keith Bush and police dog Tomy will represent Florida, southern Georgia and southern Alabama as the Region 1 team in the United States Police Canine Association’s National Patrol Dog Field Trials.

The competition will be from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 in Charles County, Md.

In May, Bush and Tomy won several awards in the Region 1 trials, including seventh place for the Overall Top Dog Award, second place in the Two-Man Team Inter-Departmental Award (with Venice Police Officer Chad Walker and VPD dog Atlas) and fourth place in the Search Award category.

In March, Bush and Tomy placed second in the Toughest Dog Team competition in Boynton Beach.
