Annual Do the Right Thing Fundraiser Announced –

An Evening of Tropical Treasures

Since 1995, Do the Right Thing of Charlotte County, Inc. and the Punta Gorda Police Department have been honoring kids throughout Charlotte County for doing good deeds and making good choices. On Saturday, October 20th, the Punta Gorda Police Department will host an annual fundraising event in order to support the program for another year.

“An Evening of Tropical Treasures” will be held at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association located at2001 Shreve Street in Punta Gorda. The casual event (tropical casual attire) will include dining and dancing, which will take place to the beat of a steel drum performer, in addition to one ofCharlotteCounty’s premier live bands – NEXXLEVEL. In addition, there will be lots of wonderful raffle items to win during the event. With these efforts, Do the Right Thing of Charlotte County, Inc. can continue to publicly honor the wonderful kids in our county. All proceeds donated to Do the Right Thing go directly toward youth programs and recognition inCharlotteCounty.

Punta Gorda Police Chief Albert (Butch) Arenal stated “While some focus on negatives involving our youth, the focus of Do the Right Thing is to recognize and celebrate the great young people we have in our community. There is no better investment of our time than in our kids.”
