 “5th AnnualFort Myers Cops and Joggers 5k” 

The Fort Myers Police Department proudly announces the 5th Annual Cops and Joggers 5k.  Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the FMPD Fallen Officer Memorial Fund and The Brotherhood Ride. The race will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 7:30 a.m.  The 3.1 mile run begins and ends atCentennialPark along the river in historic downtownFort Myers and will cross theEdisonBridge. This year FMPD is proud to have numerous community sponsors and a major sponsor through Modern Woodman Fraternal Financial. 

The race was first established in 2008 to assist the family of Officer Andrew Widman who was shot and killed in the line of duty on July 18, 2008. Proceeds from this year’s event will assist police officers and firefighters, as well as their families in the event of an illness, injury or death. Joggers can download a race brochure with a registration card by visiting our website at or they can register online with the Fort Myers Track Club at  The entry fee is just $20 for adults and $15 for youth if registered on or before October 18, 2012. Running from the cops never felt so good!
