The North Port K-9 Unit, consisting of Officer Noel Coward with his K-9 “Sniper” and Officer Keith Bush with his K-9 “Tomy”, attended the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Regional Trials in Alabama and won numerous awards. This was Officer Bush’s and K-9 “Tomy’s” first USPCA competition. Keith and Tomy won the top dual purpose award, top novice award, 8th overall patrol award, and 3rd place apprehension award which is a remarkable accomplishment for a novice. Keith and Tomy’s success is a direct reflect of his K-9 Instructor, North Port Police Canine Officer Noel Coward. Great job by all!!! A formal recognition of their success will be held at the March 26th Commission Meeting at 6 pm.
