Join Southwest Florida law enforcement on Sunday, March 25, and Monday, March 26, at the annual “Tip-A-Cop” benefit at Joe’s Crab Shack in Fort Myers.
This annual fundraiser benefits local Special Olympics athletes. Deputies, officers and civilians will serve as celebrity greeters and waiters for lunch and dinner Sunday and lunch only on Monday.
Joe’s Crab Shack restaurant is located in the Fort Myers River District at 2024 W. First St.
Also, mark your calendar: Special Olympics also benefits from the annual “Law Enforcement Torch Run” scheduled for April 20. The Torch Run is an intra-state relay involving more than 300 city, county, state and federal agencies throughout Florida’s 67 counties. The run starts at 8 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 14750 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, and ends at the Big Lots parking lot at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Pondella Road in North Fort Myers. Participation in the Torch Run is restricted to law enforcement and first-responder agencies.
Proceeds benefit Special Olympics.
