img_20161208_151731123For the second year in a row, City of Fort Myers resident Jim Farwell and Tijuana Flats General Manager Miranda La Lone have teamed up to graciously provide the Fort Myers Police Department with 180 restaurant gift cards as a gesture of appreciation to our police officers for their commitment to providing excellent services to our community.

Just as he did last year, Farwell purchased 100, five-dollar gift cards from the restaurant for the FMPD officers. La Lone stepped in and covered the remaining 80 gift cards on behalf of Tijuana Flats. Over the past year, the Fort Myers Police Department has added 15 sworn officers to the force for a total of 180. The increase did not stop La Lone from showing her support. “Tijuana Flats is part of this great community and is proud to support our police department,” said La Lone.

Farwell, who remains a loyal Tijuana Flats customer, and his wife Carol, wanted to show their appreciation toward FMPD with a thank you for protecting and serving their community. “Now more than ever, our police officers need reassurance from the community that we support them and value the sacrifices they make every day for the safety of our community,” said Farwell.

On December 8, 2016, FMPD officials met with Farwell and La Lone at the Tijuana Flats Dani Drive location (8001 Dani Drive), to receive the 180 gift cards. “These acts of kindness mean so much to our officers and serve as a reminder of just how appreciated we are,” said FMPD Lieutenant Jay Rodriguez. FMPD will disperse the gift cards to officers in the next week.
